Mission

Why Banditas and what is it? Banditas is a wild mustang advocacy group finding as many homes as possible for the wild horses captured via roundups and held in holding facilities. We search for large and small land owners who are willing to house wild horses that have been removed from the Herd Management Areas, providing the horses with a long-term, safe landing sanctuary home. This includes any safe opportunity of accessible land, whether it's a private owner (leased or donated), sanctuary, or our own land purchases. Donations go to all aspects of adoption including land, food for horses, transportation of horses, fencing, paneling - anything that would aid in providing more land to accommodate more horses - we want to help where we can!   If you do not have land, but always wanted to help a horse, we have a few to pick from that you can sponsor!  If you have available land to donate, let us lease it from you! If you are able to do both - great. Please contact us so we can help you through the process of adoption!

We are a non-profit with 100% of all donations and 100% of profits from auctioned artwork, sales and fundraisers going to the assistance of the wild horses,. Where Hoofbeats Are Our Heartbeats.

You don't rescue the horse ~ the horse will rescue you! Saving people one horse at a time

~What We Have Accomplished So Far~

Banditas has purchased/adopted 19 Sand Wash Basin Wild Horses and placed them on properties located in Colorado. Whether the land is leased, donated, or homes of our board members, the horses finally have a new freedom.

Banditas has collaborated with Steadfast Steeds, a sanctuary run and owned by Tracey Harmon, located in Glade, Colorado. Three older horses and one younger horse will have a forever home here.
Banditas purchased 4 mare Sale Authority (older horses) from the March 2022 adoption event and 3 gelding sale horses from the October internet adoption. They now live their lives running on 9000 acres, as wild and free at "The Refuge," a sanctuary owned and operated by Pat Craig of The Wild Animal Sanctuary.
**Banditas Wild Horse Promise is a charitable 501c3 nonprofit organization committed to helping the American Wild Horses displaced from their homes. Donations made to our organization are tax deductible**
